Redesign Product Development Process for Case Company : Comprehensive Examination and Partial Redesign in the Advanced Process Control Development

Abstract

The example company's Advanced Process Control (APC) department changed the product development process to make it more efficient and less likely to cause delivery delays. This thesis goes into detail about how they did this. The study discovered that big issues like lengthy project reviews, a lack of standardised templates, and bad documentation standards were making the department less productive. To solve these issues, the study suggested that agile methods such as Kanban and Scrum should be added to the software development life cycle. This would make it more adaptable and allow for constant merging. It was suggested that software models that could be used again and again and an easier way to keep track of things be made to help the agile method and make project management better overall. There was some disagreement about the documentation, but most people who had a stake in the plan liked the finished plan. The goals of this thesis are to shorten delivery times, improve project outcomes, and stay ahead of the competition. This thesis shows a real way to make these changes.
