Tiivistelmä
This thesis uses qualitative research methods, specifically content analysis, to look into how you can retire comfortably. Various articles, websites, statistics and surveys have been researched to obtain information.
The Finnish pension system has been reformed numerous times to be the system it is today, but this does not mean it is a finished package. Sustainability of the pension system is a concern for many Finnish citizens, as birth rates continue to decrease, and the amount of elderly continues to increase. Will there be a large enough generation to fund national pensions of future pensioners?
A small point of view of a young Finnish native will be implemented to stress the relevancy of the topic. This thesis will look at the strengths and limitations of the Finnish pension system using the CFA Mercer Global Pension Index, categorised into three indexes.
This aim of this thesis is to study the sustainability of the Finnish pension and analyse perceptions and ideas that the Finnish population has about the current pension system, as well as provide investment methods to supplement a traditional pension.
