Tiivistelmä
The aim of this project was to replace eight Cisco MDS 9513 switches with four Cisco MDS 9718 switches in storage area network (SAN) of Bankia in Spain. Because, Cisco MDS 9513 switches were too old and former updates and upgrades could not compensate losses. Boubletel enterprise designed, executed and tested this project to the end in a certain and exact schedule.

The replacement of Cisco MDS 9513 switches with Cisco MDS 9718 switches in a bank’s Storage Area Network (SAN) aimed to enhance network robustness, scalability, and efficiency. This process involved detailed preparation, including documenting current configurations and planning the new setup. Essential hardware and updated firmware were gathered in advance. Configurations were backed up to ensure data integrity

The SAN was configured with new VSANs and smart zoning, and advanced features such as Quality of Service (QoS) and security protocols were enabled. Rigorous readiness, Detailed documentation was maintained.This methodical approach ensured a smooth transition, significantly improving the SAN’s capabilities.
