This thesis was conducted in a large-scale global company leading in material handling solutions. The current communication within the company’s case project involves multiple communication channels that lead to missing information, causing damage to the project production plan and budget. Thus, the objective of this study is to improve information sharing among stakeholders during the project’s delivery process. Following that, the outcome is to propose final guidelines to improve information sharing during the project’s delivery process.
The applied research was chosen to address the research objective, and the qualitative data was applied for collecting the data. For data collection, three types of data, Data 1, 2 and 3 are categorized according to thesis structure. Data 1 consists of company documents, interviews, weekly meetings and observations. Then, Data 2 and 3 are similar since both used workshops, emails and Teams messages as materials.
The project followed a four-phase structure which consists of Current State Analysis, literature review, initial recommendations and feedback on the initial recommendations. First, the Current State Analysis was formed by interviews, coffee chats, document reviews, and observations. Second, literature review helps identify the best practices and build a Conceptual Framework. Following that, the initial recommendations were grounded in the current state findings and literature insights. Finally, the final recommendations were finalized from stakeholders’ feedback on previous initial recommendations.
