Tiivistelmä
The objective of the thesis is to create an automated real-time salary billing process for the salary billing of the case company. The study was commissioned by the case company, a furniture retail company that offers a wide range of furniture products and also offers design consultation services and assembly assistance to customers. Since 2006, when the company extended its sales and financial transactions multinationally, it also started the outsourcing of personnel to international locations, and remunerating them through salary invoices.
The thesis was conducted based on qualitative research methods. Data was gathered through interviews, observations, and written communication with key stakeholders and external experts. The thesis started with the analysis of the company’s billing process to find development areas in the current manual process. The conceptual framework was developed to incorporate selected elements of available knowledge and best practice to guide the development of a proposal for automating the bulling process. This theoretical foundation included the topics of process automation and integration with ERP systems in finance.
In the development part, the study developed a proposal for a real-time automated salary billing process for the case company, aimed at improving efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. The outcome of this thesis is a new, automated billing process for salary invoices of overseas contractors. Through this improved process, the case company can optimize its current ERP system modules and improve efficiency of salary billing for overseas contractors. This will also ensure punctuality and precision of cash flow data.
