Tiivistelmä
The aim of this literature review was to explore how digital transformation in healthcare can be successfully implemented through effective change management. The purpose was to gather current knowledge and identify the key elements and managerial practices that support digital change in healthcare environments. The main research objective was to investigate: What are the key elements of change management used to enable digital transformation in healthcare?
Narrative literature review was used in this study to collect, analyze and summarize research findings. Academic databases were used to search for up to date and relevant literature focusing on change management in digital transformation in healthcare. The selected articles were reviewed and inductive content analyzes used to categorize the findings. Four main themes emerged from the literature: leadership; organization readiness and resources; staff training, engagement and attitudes; and strategic planning and collaboration. Effective leadership, where management support and guide staff through digital change, was found to be essential. Organizational readiness, including adequate infrastructure, digital tools, and digital competence, influenced managers’ and staff’s ability to adopt the change. Staff engagement, attitudes and training played a central role in overcoming resistance and ensuring successful implementation. Lastly, strategic planning and cross-sector collaboration were required for sustaining long-term digital transformation and aligning processes with legislation, security standards, and shared goals.
