Tiivistelmä
The commissioning company for this thesis was Etteplan Oyj, a technology services company which offers expert solutions across various industrial sectors. The objective was to develop a checklist and guidelines for machine drawings for the Mechanical Engineering department at the company’s Vantaa office. The main goals of the checklist and guidelines were to improve drawing quality and consistency of machine drawings, support the review process and assist in the onboarding of new employees.
Information was gathered from the company’s internal training material, external sources and relevant standards. The collected information was compiled into a user-friendly checklist and a set of easily accessible guidelines for all designers.
The outcome of the thesis was a clearly structured Excel file utilizing macros and divided into distinct sections. The tool was designed in a way that allows for future development and expansion. The final version was approved by the client and handed over to the company after the completion of the thesis.
