Tiivistelmä
This thesis explored the nuanced roles of Nurses within the Finnish healthcare system in controlling and managing Diabetes, by their inevitable contributions across prevention, early detection, pharmaceutical management, and patient education. Nurses are strategically positioned to deliver patient-centred care to improve health outcomes, mitigate complications, and enhance the individual's quality of life. Diabetes is an increasing public health concern in Finland, particularly Type 2 diabetes, driven by lifestyle factors and an ageing population.

The thesis comprises a descriptive literature review methodology, utilizing a comprehensive knowledge through different Journals, Articles, and books. Nurses are the prime facilitators for the early detection and management of diabetes; however, there are many systematic challenges which has been critical for the optimal nursing care. There are various factors, like staffing shortages, work overload, financial constrictions, and limited access to specialized training.

Furthermore, the thesis delves into the importance of the continuous education and training of nurses to mitigate the technological know-how need. It advocates the policy reforms to support nurse's roles by incentivizing and motivating nurses to leverage their full potential for combating the diabetes epidemic.

In conclusion, this thesis provides evidence-based insights into the crucial roles of nurses in diabetes care in Finland. It calls for concerted efforts to ad-dress existing challenges and optimize nursing contributions through education, resources, and systemic support.
