The need for transition from manual to automation testing is rising as a solution for improving test quality and reducing execution time and human error. This thesis explores the process of selecting an appropriate testing tool and implementing test automation for a case company’s Android application.
The methodology section begins with a review of the important concepts in software testing and mobile testing with a focus on test automation. It also provides an overview of current tools available for mobile application testing.
The practical phrase of the thesis involved the selection of the testing framework and implementation of automated tests for the Android application. The result of this thesis offers valuable insights about practical implementation details when transitioning from manual to automation testing.
