Tiivistelmä
This thesis investigates how university students engage with artificial intelligence (AI) tools, particularly ChatGPT, during their job search processes, and how these tools influence their motivation, emotions, and perceptions of the labor market. Focusing on students from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, the research uses a structured questionnaire to collect data and applies machine learning techniques such as regression, clustering, and classification using Python. The results indicate that students who frequently use and trust AI tools feel more confident and motivated in their job-seeking efforts. At the same time, concerns about fairness, transparency, and emotional detachment from the process are evident. These findings highlight the dual role of AI tools as both enablers and potential stressors in job recruitment. The study concludes with practical recommendations for universities, tool developers, and policymakers to design fairer, more supportive, and student-centred AI recruitment systems.
