Improved Approach for Concrete Material Management on Site

Abstract

This thesis focuses on improving concrete material management practices to enhance construction efficiency, reduce material wastage and ensure quality control. Through a systematic analysis of current concrete material handling processes on construction sites, the study identifies key challenges such as inaccurate forecasting, improper storage, informal reporting and lack of tracking mechanisms. A structured concrete material management framework is proposed, incorporating modern inventory techniques, digital tracking tools and coordination strategies among procurement and site execution teams. The proposed system was validated through case studies and field data, demonstrating significant improvements in material utilization, cost savings and project timelines. Results highlight that effective material management not only minimizes delays and resource loss but also contributes to sustainable construction practices. This research offers practical recommendations that can be readily implemented across various construction projects, contributing to more efficient and accountable concrete material operations.
