Tiivistelmä
The purpose of this research study was to write about the Heavy-lift logistics observed during the my time as a trainee as a part of the Heavy-Lift/Export team in an international company. The aim of the study is to give insight into Heavy-lift logistics and the potential challenges in Heavy-lift logistics to newcomers to the fields, as well as to people working paralell to Heavy-lift logistics professionals.
The research methods used for data collection of this research was strictly limited to observations from the authors’ time spent as a trainee at the company. This gave the author the unique possibility to observe the project logistics first-hand and compare it to pre-existing theory of the information flow within international logistics, transportation planning and problem solving, which were the aspects of the project logistics that were observed.
The projects had huge variations in the observed aspects and the challenges faced, which shows the complexity of the Heavy-lift logistics.
