Tiivistelmä
The main objective of the thesis is to provide strategies and insights to ensure the successful development of new products within the automotive industry, with the potential to adapt this knowledge to other product sectors as well.
This research is designed as a single case study, focusing on one selected company, collecting data by interviews conducted with four managers.
The results of the thesis show that in developing a new product that meets quality standards and customer requirements, several key factors are involved. These include investment in various resources to ensure readiness for product manufacturing, the implementation of an effective quality management system to meet customer expectations, and strong leadership to guide the team toward the defined goals. Furthermore, the capability and quality of personnel or team members play a vital role in achieving targets, which requires not only technical skills but also effective communication and the ability to build strong relationships with both customers and suppliers. Most importantly, risk assessment must be conducted at every stage of the process to prevent errors and ensure success within the desired timeframe.
The research findings indicate that effective leadership with strong capabilities, along with developing a skilled and competent team, are both critical factors that significantly influence the success of new product development.
