Benefits of Migration from On Premise to Cloud Infrastructure for Large-Scale Business

Abstract

The strategic, operational, and financial ramifications of large scale organizations moving from on premise infrastructure to cloud based environments more especially, hybrid cloud models are examined in this thesis. The study examines how cloud computing, through models like IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, gives businesses more flexibility, scalability, and cost effectiveness while addressing the drawbacks of traditional on premise IT, such as high capital expenditure, operational complexity, and limited scalability. Key drivers of cloud adoption are identified in the study, such as the demand for enhanced business continuity, cost optimization, innovation acceleration, and business agility.

This research is based on extensive literature survey and covers all the main elements related to cloud migration. Thematic study shows that in addition to technical adaptation, effective governance, cultural change, and strategic alignment are necessary for a successful cloud migration. The results show that hybrid cloud solutions allow enterprises to deliberately strike a compromise between the cost and scalability advantages of public clouds and security and compliance requirements.
