Exploring the Impact of Cloud Computing on Business Efficiency: Benefits and Challenges

Abstract

Modern business operations are no different, as cloud computing has completely redefined the cost structures, agility and innovation on which we base today. In this study we identify the opportunities and challenges, as well as future potentials with mixed-methods including quantitative survey and qualitative interviews results. The results indicate that devoting to the cloud lowers the operational expenditures as the fixed costs are converted into variable architecture and moreover scalable which create agility. Cloud innovation is for cooperative frameworks to reduce project cycle time Cloud migration has significant roadblocks in terms of security threats, migration complexity and workforce transition. The thesis suggests action-oriented recommendations (e.g. cybersecurity and change management programs) towards optimal cloud adoption. There are critical lessons in this research for the companies trying to elongate the useful life of cloud technology as a source of competitive advantage.
