The purpose of the thesis is the investigation, identification and analysis of the collaborative capabilities for role specific team members necessary to effectively lead individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds in energy upgrades projects.
This research is designed as a single case study, focusing on one selected company, collecting data by interviews conducted with four team members.
The result of the thesis shows that communication, emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, self-leadership, trust building, collaboration and teamwork are the most relevant competencies.
The research findings indicate that these collaboration capabilities can assist the line manager to cover the competency deficiencies of the group members and to help decision makers within the business unit to encourage the development and improvement of these collaboration skills.
