The baseline in factory automation with selective adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies such as augmented reality-based training, collaborative robots and additive manufacturing and simulation has already been gaining momentum in the case company. As a next step forward, Implementing and operating the SMART manufacturing tools, setting up a network for the Internet of Things (IOT) tools along with the development of analysis software was researched and implemented in this study.
A thorough study of the favourable vendors for the SMART tools, protocols used for the integration into the manufacturing environment, a network survey for validating existing infrastructure and implementing a pilot solution was carried out at the end of the study. The result was an end-to-end software application hosted within a corporate network.
