This theses aims to describe the communication barriers between nurses and elderly patients in the hospital. Therefore, this thesis aims to produce new knowledge in communication barriers between nurses and elderly patients which could be utilized to improve the quality of care in the hospital setting.
The study's references was collected from 2 reputable academic research databases found in the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences online library: CINAHL (Cumulative Index of Nursing and Allied Health Literature), which contained 5 articles and Medline which contained 5 articles. An inductive content analysis of the 10-research articles was used in this desrciptive literature review study which employed a method based on qualitative research.
This descriptive literature review explain the several communication barriers that affect interactions between nurses and elderly patients in a hospital setting. The main objective is to provide a thorough explanation of these barriers and introduce new knowledge that can help improve the quality of care in hospital.
To overcome these barriers and improve communication, nurses enhance patient understanding, ensure better care outcomes, and ultimately enhance the overall quality care for elderly patients in the hospital setting.
The Turnitin software examined this bachelor's thesis and found an acceptable similarity percentage of 33%.
