Cyber Resilience for Underserved

Abstract

Small business information security maturity has been controversial issue on the field. Both companies and specialists are confused with the requirements and SMEs ability to secure their services. For small companies, the digital world represents a necessity, an opportunity, and a threat simultaneously. They should be available and discoverable to consumers and other businesses, but how to do it safely is a question many are thinking, usually when it is too late. Gab between risk safe business operations and understanding the digital threats in SMEs was the main question I started to investigate. Educating all of them, enough to survive with minimal effects from digital threats requires many channels to provide information. As solution, interest groups, InfoSec influencers and entrepreneurs should work together to keep up the discussion of digital resilience. Sharing information through the appropriate channels and in a sufficiently clear format is key to improving knowledge and resilience. Furthermore, initiating discussions is essential to uncover the current state of affairs and to develop alternative solutions.
