Tiivistelmä
The purpose of this thesis was to document the process of transforming a social media project into a functioning business. The thesis focused on the professional development that took place while building Off Grid Island into a registered company, exploring its growth from hobby-based content creation to a structured business model. The main objectives were to understand how to manage accounting and financial operations, develop strategic partnerships, and create consistent revenue through social media.
This is a diary-based thesis, which allowed for reflection on daily and weekly work experiences. The diary entries covered themes of business development, strategic planning, content creation, marketing, and accounting and financial management.
The results show significant professional growth, as the author developed skills in financial management, partnership negotiation, and business strategy. The thesis also revealed the importance of organization, adaptability, and problem-solving in running a small creative business. The thesis concludes that with the right planning, structure, and mindset, social media-based projects can achieve long-term growth.
