Tiivistelmä
This thesis sought to analyze the current quote and order management process to develop a digital transformation roadmap for improvement. Beamex Oy Ab, an international supplier of calibration solutions, was the name of the company. The study was initiated due to the company's need to address inefficiencies, fragmented processes, and old-fashioned rigid systems that hinder operational scalability and customer satisfaction. The goal was to make a plan that would improve operations, make data better, and make processes that are scalable and focused on the client.
This thesis utilized applied action research methodology, incorporating qualitative interviews, document analysis, and observational techniques. Data was collected in three phases from 22 stakeholders representing various company functions and geographic regions. The analysis of the current condition found major problems, like not having enough ownership of processes, having to enter data by hand too often, having ERP and CPQ systems that are old and not flexible, and not having enough training for certain roles.
The thesis included academic material, such as articles, books, and best practices in Business Process Management (BPM), digital transformation, and change management. A conceptual framework was created to guide the change, focusing on re-engineering processes, updating systems, managing data, and providing planned training for specific roles.
The outcome is a validated digital transformation roadmap comprising seven development areas: unified process documentation, modern CPQ system, integrated B2B e-commerce platform, ERP modernization, improved data quality, performance metrics, and structured change management. The roadmap is expected to reduce errors, enhance data flow, improve customer experience, and support long-term growth and digital maturity at Beamex Oy Ab.
