The research was done in order to look into how nurses might help avoid infections related to central venous catheters (CVCs). It was developed to help healthcare professionals, nursing students, and nurses better understand how evidence-based nursing practices might reduce infections linked to CVC. This study used a descriptive literature review with a theme analysis. PUBMED and other academic databases were used to conduct a thorough search of academic publications.
The studies analysed showed comparable results, highlighting that nurses are crucial in infection prevention via proper hand hygiene, aseptic methods, and catheter upkeep. Elements like education, workload, collaboration, and institutional backing were recognized as impacting infection prevention results.
Based on the findings, upcoming studies may concentrate on determining the best infection prevention training techniques for nurses, assessing hospital policies that promote infection control, and investigating the impact of ongoing education on sustained adherence to CVC care standards.
