Tiivistelmä
The first aim of this study was to look for a suitable supplier based on offered mold manufacturing prices, regardless of its location. The second goal was to investigate and find alternative biobased and environmentally friendly materials for the current material. Then the third criterion was to find a solution to mitigate the unpleasant odor that was emitted after production by the biomaterial. The thesis was commissioned by Relax SaunaVihta company.
For finding the supplier, initially, an overall search on the internet by checking different company websites and many related field exhibitions’ participants was conducted. Then an email was sent to all of them requesting their offers. Then to identify and find the best material and odor mitigation solution scientific re-search was conducted and data was gathered to compare them for the best result by comparing them together. Through these methods, many scientific articles were used.
At the end of this study, companies were listed for future contacts, but it was not possible to receive any offers because of a lack of documents. It became clear that the company asking the price needs to prepare a 2D and 3D document for the product. Also, for material selection, several properties were suggested. Indeed, for the bad smell, the solution was to reduce the temperature during the melting processes from above 200 °C to 180-200 °C.
