Hypertension is a prominent and rising health issue among senior women in care homes, significantly posing them to risks of cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this thesis is to analyze nursing care practices and their positive impacts on the management of hypertension in such a population. In carrying out a descriptive analysis of current health-related literature on the subject, a PICo approach to this study is adopted. To extract data, CINAHL and MEDLINE databases were employed with a set of inclusion and exclusion criteria to finally select six articles for an inductive content analysis. In answering two research questions related to the study, three different nursing practices are identified: 'Structured and Empowered Nursing Care', 'Holistic Psychosocial Support', and 'Individualized Lifestyle and Environmental Modification', all of which practiced in nursing care contributed to positive outcomes in three different sectors: 'Improved Health and Well-being', 'Enhanced Self-management and System Improvements', and 'Superior Clinical Benefit'. The successful management of hypertension is therefore indicated in a multi-dimensional nursing practice encompassing both structured care practices, individualized lifestyle modification, and holistic psychosocial practices.
