The objective of this thesis was to enhance the procurement process in the case company, namely in the New Product Introduction phase, and to clarify the roles and responsibilities of stakeholders involved in this process. By optimizing the process, the goal was to improve efficiency and transparency, as well as strengthen cross-functional co-operation in the organization.
The study was conducted as action research by utilizing qualitative research methods. Observation, surveys and interviews were used as data collection methods during the thesis. The theoretical framework focused on new product and process development, project management and cross-functional collaboration, as well as quality management topics.
The development part started with the current state analysis and identified the main bottlenecks in the procurement process. The outcome related to the implementation and evaluation of new enhanced process into practice, and establishing cross-functional collaboration in the procurement process.
The results this thesis showed that implementation of the improved process, clarification of roles and responsibilities, and strengthening co-operation between the stakeholders can positively affect efficiency, thus bringing value to the case company.
