Tiivistelmä
Internal communication, technology acceptance, and digital competence play important roles in healthcare digitalization but remain underexplored among medical diagnostics employees. This study aimed to examine these factors and address the research gap regarding laboratory personnel perspectives.

A mixed-methods approach was used in a private medical diagnostics organization, including a survey (n=77) and two focus groups (n=9). Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, and correlations, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically.

Differences emerged across professional and age groups. Laboratory technicians preferred physical bulletin boards and informal channels, while younger employees used internal communication less frequently compared to other age groups. Non-client-facing staff favored concise, visual learning materials unlike client-facing employees. While older employees reported lower digital competence, they gave suggestions more readily regarding digital solutions compared to other age groups. Collegial support strongly correlated with technology acceptance in lab technicians, meanwhile utilizing digital solutions correlated with technology acceptance for other professional groups. Collaboration was identified as key to advancing digitalization in a medical diagnostics organization.

These findings support future decision-making, particularly in promoting continuous education and stakeholder collaboration for digital solution implementation in medical diagnostics organizations.
