Työkalu terveydenhuollon ja hyvinvoinnin projektihallintaan

Abstract

Insinöörityön aiheena oli suunnitella toimiva työkalu terveyden ja hyvinvoinninedistämisen projektihallintaan. Tutkimuksessa käytetty teoreettinen ja tutkimuksellinen tieto oli pohjana työkalun kehittämiselle. Projekti oli osa Kaupunkitutkimus ja metropolitiikka -ohjelmaa ja sai rahoitusta siitä.

Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli, että työn aikana kehitettävä sovellus auttaisi sosiaali- ja terveydenhuoltoalan henkilöstöä suunnittelemaan, läpiviemään ja dokumentoimaan projektejaan tehokkaasti. Tutkimustyön aikana kehitetty uusi työkalu sai nimekseen Kelpo-projektiapuri.

Selainpohjaisen sovelluksen sisältö, käytettävyys, toiminnallisuus ja visuaalisuus testattiin käyttäjätutkimuksella neljässä eri kunnassa kyselylomakkeen sekä heuristisen ja kognitiivisen testauksen avulla. Tutkimuksessa kiinnitettiin erityistä huomiota sovelluksen selkeyteen ja helppokäyttöisyyteen. Lisäksi testeissä mitattiin käyttäjien asenteita, odotuksia ja tyytyväisyyttä kyseistä sovellusta kohtaan.

Käyttäjätesteistä saatu tulos osoitti, että sosiaali- ja terveydenhuoltoalalla on selkeää tarvetta kehitetylle työkalulle. Sovelluksen tarkastuslistoista saatu informaatio osoittautui tärkeäksi osaksi suunnitelmallista ja kattavaa raportointia. Käyttäjätutkimus antoi myös lisää arvokasta taustatietoa sekä hyvän pohjan sovelluksen kehittämiselle.

Tutkimus osoitti myös, että projektihallinnan työkalun on oltava riittävän korkealaatuinen, jotta käyttäjät voivat kokea sen mielekkääksi ja hyödylliseksi. Hyvät käyttökokemukset takaavat sovellukselle pitkän elinkaaren ja tyytyväiset käyttäjät. Palveluja ja työkalujen käytettävyyttä kehittämällä pystytään tulevaisuudessa parantamaan projektihallinnan tehokkuutta ja palveluiden tarjontaa ikääntyvässä tietoyhteiskunnassa.

The purpose of this thesis was to design a functional, project management tool for the health and well-being sector. The development of the tool was based on theoretical and research-based knowledge used in the study. The project was part of the Urban Research and metropolitan policy program and it received funding from the program.

The aim of the study was to develop a tool that would help social and health care personnel to plan, carry out and document their projects effectively. The new tool developed was given the name Kelpo-Project Assistant.

The content, usability, functionality and visual quality of the new site was tested by user survey questionnaire in four different municipalities, along with the help of heuristic and cognitive testing. The study paid special attention to the clarity and ease of use of the site. In addition, test user attitudes, expectations and satisfaction with the particular application were measured.

The results obtained from the user tests showed that there is a clear need for the developed tool in the social and health sector. Information obtained from the check lists of the application proved to be an important part of a systematic and comprehensive reporting. The user research also gave valuable background information, as well as a good basis for application development.

The study showed that the project management tool must be of sufficiently high quality to allow users to experience it as meaningful and useful. A good operating experience guarantee a long life cycle for the application and satisfied users. Developing the services and the usability of tools will help in future to improve the efficiency of project management and the supply of services in the aging information society.
