The thesis explores how a business could benefit from using a CRM system. Any business big or small has a customer base and the business has to keep on getting new opportunities in order to increase its customer base and business revenue. To make this happen the business normally keeps track of the current customers and their needs and what kind of offerings it has to offer them. This whole data management process becomes complex day by day as the data increases. As with increase in data the visibility of the key metrics becomes weak simply because there is too much data to keep track of and make sense out of. This kind of situation demands for an intuitive, organised and user-friendly system that can take in this user data, organise it, and make sense out of it.
Salesforce CRM platform helps in solving this issue, it is the leading CRM system in the world with a number of specialised areas like Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Experience Cloud etc. to cater the different needs of the customers. For the problem explained above where the business needs to improve its sales pipeline, customer data visibility and overall opportunity development process – the Salesforce Sales Cloud is the ideal solution. It offers very customer oriented out of the box functionalities and also the freedom to build upon the standard functionalities and meet the customers exact precise demands.
The thesis implementation is developing the Opportunity development process of an imaginary customer called ‘The Fashion Inc.’ using Salesforce’s Sales Cloud. The development includes creating Account, Opportunity and Quote processes and adding automations and validations to streamline the processes. Apart from that creating reports and dashboard to see the business status. Hence, improving business efficiency and visibility.
The result of the thesis is an implemented solution for the sales development process of The Fashion Inc. using Salesforce Sales Cloud. The system has streamlined the sales pipeline, increased the business visibility, and helped in keeping track of the key performance metrics. This in return helps the business to grow.
