Tiivistelmä
The main reason for this action research report was to document the change that took place in one team and one media company during 2021. Previously there were two teams writing similar articles for two places – one team writing for the printed version and the other one for the digital version. Previous studies about digital transformation were very useful to find information during the study.
These two teams did not know what the other team did, so there were many misunderstandings and double work. The print team was living week by week and the web team was living day by day. The interaction between the teams was weak. A lot of double work was done. The theory in this study relies on digital transformation, team dynamics and digitalization.
Action research was chosen as a research method since the problems had to be fixed and different solutions tried out. Action research gives the whole team the opportunity to participate in change.
Information during this process was gathered by interviews, questionnaires, polls and by observing. As a result, a guidebook was born, so the rules and the findings could be used when educating new team members.
