Tiivistelmä
The aim of this thesis was to study how remote working and digitalization are influencing design sprint process. The theoretical framework was Google Design Ventures Design Sprint model, remote working models, and digitalization.
This study work was commissioned by Osuuspankki, and it was made for the Digital Consumer Loans -team within the organization. This study will look closely to Digital Consumer Loans -team working methods and what kind of design sprint they are holding. More so, how remote working and digitalization are affecting the way they work and plan design sprints.
The study was executed as a qualitative study, the material of which was collected by interviewing the team lead twice, during and after a design sprint. Interviews was conducted as qualitative, semi-structured interview model. Interviews were recorded remotely and transcripted in to textual form. When interview was conducted, the current sprint was already taking place.
Pandemic and digitalization have taken Osuuspankki and the Digital Consumer Loans -team into a new era, where new normal is working remotely. DCL-team work almost fully remotely, and team is determined to invest on making it beneficial. Google Design Venture model as such does not match team’s needs, but it offers them an excellent frame. Team has developed their own agile design sprint style, and for them the development of design sprints is an ongoing process.
