The purpose of this Bachelor’s thesis is to establish a level of competence on how to run and operate a food truck in Helsinki to deliver a new, one of a kind dish from the authors home city in Rochester, New York. The importance of this is to give the author a better understanding of how to start and run a business, what is important, what running a business entails, and what will be needed to focus on in order to run a successful business.
The research that was carried out was empirical research with extensive desktop research followed by the qualitative research which was an interview of 50 bystanders in the city of Helsinki and doing a quick interview followed up by handing them a questionnaire to fill out. The key findings during the research was the amount of marketing that is involved, how to create a lean canvas model, and what level of competence will be needed to execute the business.
These answers and findings are all important as before writing this thesis, the author has wanted to implement this idea for awhile but did not have much of an understanding to what it takes to run and operate a business in the food industry and after writing it has deemed it a lot more clear.
