The objective of this thesis was to improve company X employees` occupational health and safety by developing working and practical SOS button application for their field work. The beneficiaries of this thesis were company X, company X: s employees who were using the application and various stakeholders inside the organization, especially the Quality and Occupational safety management. The company X is a company that operates in the transportation and logistics business.
This thesis was a development project, which had practical working-life and business goals. The theoretical framework of this thesis was built around Finnish working-life legislation and instructions about how threatening situations and violent attacks against employees made by hostile and aggressive customers should be managed according to Finnish and international authors. Methods that was used in this development project were various Service Design methods, such as stakeholder consultation, benchmarking, and research wall. Suggestions from my study can be used for validation testing for the final solution. In my thesis, I discuss issues that should be taken into account when creating the final product.
