Purpose: The purpose of this literature review was to find evidence that orthokeratology can be an effective method of correcting and managing myopic anisometropia in the form of a literature search and summary of results.
Methods: A literature search was conducted using PubMed. The search was conducted in May 2023. The search terms “Orthokeratology” and “Anisometropia” were used, and studies not older than five years (2018-2023) were selected.
Results: Based on the studies, monocular orthokeratology shows efficiency in reducing anisometropia values for children, but experts pointed out the need for further well-organized clinical trials.
Conclusions: Orthokeratology offers a valid option for correcting and managing myopic anisometropia.
Keywords: orthokeratology, anisometropia, myopia, ocular axial elongation
