The aim of this thesis was to follow and develop the author’s professional development as customer advisor in financial sector. This thesis was implemented as a form of a diary thesis reporting for seven weeks during. The observation period was 27.3.-12.5.2023.
The report consists of a description of the initial situation, daily diary entries, weekly analysis and conclusion. The description of the initial situation includes an analysis of one's current work, an introduction to stakeholders and an analysis of workplace interaction situations. The daily diary entries describes and reflects the daily tasks, challenges and learnings. At the end of each reporting week, the week was analyzed through selected main themes: communication, sales and self-management. The selected themes are analyzed using professional literature and online sources.
The purpose of the thesis is professional development and to identify the challenges and development targets. This thesis aims to examine the operating models of the author and to find more efficient ways of working.
As a result of the seven weeks reporting and analysis the author was able to identify development targets in the selected themes. The author found tools and methods for improving in communication, sales and self-management more efficiently through the theoretical parts.
