Tiivistelmä
The general topic of this thesis is Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) as an instrumentation method in robustness testing. This thesis provides information about software security testing and SNMP as an instrumentation method. The thesis also demonstrates what kind of results can be achieved and analyzed based on the instrumentation. The goal was to implement an export feature of comma-separated values for the existing SNMP instrumentation script and analyze the results based on the CPU loads.
The SNMP instrumentation script was used in Defensics 3 platform with test suites XML and IPv4. The csv export feature for the existing SNMP script was made with the Python language. Personal goals were to learn more about Simple Network Management Protocol and the Python language.
The objectives set for the thesis were fulfilled and new results were received when using SNMP as instrumentation method.
