Information Technology (IT) is an essential part of the telecom industry. IT is everywhere in the company, and therefore the success of the company’s business is dependent on the IT services. The IT systems are specialised in different functional areas of the business like customer care, finance, network construction and service assurance.
Service assurance is all about assuring the continuity of services to the business. The service assurance processes and IT support for them are the focus areas of this thesis. The target system is specialised in the service assurance processes.
The primary objective of this thesis is to make a plan to migrate the target system to the next generation platform. The migration plan is needed to secure the continuity of the vital system features and information for the company’s business.
The thesis consists of the target system analysis, the migration plan, and the project plan. The outcome of the thesis is a conceptual migration plan and a high-level project plan than can be used as framework in the migration project.
