Tiivistelmä
The thesis was conducted by a SME company. In the summer of 2011 company had a massive strategic work shop in order set its direction for the coming years. In the work shop it was found out that the company does not have a Human Resources (HR) strategy.
In the past HR questions were taken care on the adhoc basis. For following reasons was seen as important part of company’s development projects to develop and implement a HR strategy. How to meet the future challenges in recruiting new and keeping the current employees and to maintain the level of cost efficiency of the company and finally to develop the human capital?
The theoretical studies were conducted by reading the latest books and journals of strategic human resource management and from the different functions of HR.
The end result of this project was that a completely new HR strategy was developed to meet the company’s needs and it was also implemented as agreed during this year. However the company’s focus on the intelligent work groups was found ineffective when the work load rose over the normal level. Therefore, it would be challenging to study this more and to find a leadership or training method which would meet the challenges in this area.
