Tiivistelmä
Opinnäytetyöni aihealueena on barokkihuilun haasteet pidempään soittaneelle poikkihuilistille. Työ koostuu kahdesta osasta. Kirjallinen osa pitää sisällään huilumusiikin ja huilun rakenteen kehityshistoriaa käsittelevän osuuden sekä traverson soiton opiskelua käsittelevän osuuden.
Opinnäytetyössäni käyn läpi teknisiä haasteita, joita traverson soitto toi mukanaan. Lisäksi käsittelen opinnäytekonserttiin valitsemaani ohjelmistoa ja harjoitteluni yksityiskohtia ja paneudun niihin kappale kappaleelta.
Opinnäytekonsertti eli työni taiteellinen osa oli 21.5.2012 Oulun seudun ammattikorkeakoulun konserttisalissa. Kerron kokemuksistani konserttiin valmistautumisesta ja itse konserttitilanteesta.
Lopuksi pohdin opinnäytetyön ja -konsertin vaikutusta omaan musiikilliseen kehittymiseeni ja jatkosuunnitelmiini. The subject of this thesis was the challenge of traverso to a person, who already has longer experience with the modern transverse flute. The thesis consists of two main works. The literal part includes some history of the music composed for the flute, the development history of the structure of the traverso. The second part of this work is the description of two and a half-year journey in practising and playing the traverso flute.
At the beginning of the journey I address technical challenges which the traverso generates to a player like me having already experience with the modern transverse flute. Then the program of the thesis concert is discussed. The details of my practising is also described in relation to each composition selected to the concert.
The thesis concert, the artistic part of the thesis took place on May 21th, 2012 in the concert hall of Oulu University of Applied Sciences. I also write about the preparation during the day and about the playing experience in the concert itself.
Finally, the effects of the thesis work, practising and the concert into my personal development are discussed and, finally, my future plans with the traverso flute.
