Ensiaputapahtuma alakouluikäisille

Abstract

Opinnäytetyömme on projekti, jonka tarkoituksena oli järjestää 5- ja 6–luokkalaisille nuorille ensiapukoulutusta. Tapahtuman ideana oli opettaa nuorille asianmukaista toimintaa ennalta valituissa ensiapua vaativissa tilanteissa, joiksi valikoitui hätäilmoituksen tekeminen, potilaan kylkiasentoon kääntäminen, nyrjähtäneen raajan hoito ja verenvuodon tyrehdyttäminen. Yhteistyötahomme oli Ylivieskan nuorisoseura, jonka tiloissa tapahtuma toteutettiin. Tapahtumaan osallistui 14 nuorta, jotka oli jaettu ryhmiin. Opetus toteutettiin harjoittelemalla ensiaputaitoja käytännön harjoituksilla. Jokaisella rastilla oli projektiryhmästämme ohjaaja opettamassa ja neuvomassa nuoria harjoitusten suorittamisessa. Ensiaputapahtuma Ylivieskan nuorisoseuralla järjestettiin, koska nuorisoseuran henkilökunta ajatteli kyseiselle tapahtumalle olevan tarvetta. Lapsille ei systemaattisesti opeteta perusopetuksen piirissä ensiaputaitoja, vaikka kyseisten taitojen osaaminen on tärkeää. Lasten leikeissä ja harrastuksissa sattuu tapaturmia, joiden seurauksiin voidaan vaikuttaa hallitsemalla hyvät ensiaputaidot. Ensiaputapahtumasta saatu palaute oli todella positiivista, niin nuorilta itseltään, kuin myös nuoriso-ohjaajilta. Molemmille oli laadittu erilliset palautelomakkeet, joiden avulla he arvioivat tapahtuman onnistumista kokonaisuudessaan ja ryhmämme jäsenten toimintaa ohjaajina. Nuoret toivoivat enemmän ensiaputaitojen harjoittelua ja myös elvytysharjoituksia.

Our bachelors thesis is a project for organizing education of first aid skills to the youths on 5th and 6th grades. The idea of an event was to teach purposeful action in cases of emergencies to children. These emergency cases were chosen to be making an emergency notification by calling to 112, setting a patient to the recovery position, taking care of a sprained limb and stanching the bleeding. Our partner was the Youth association of Ylivieska and this event was placed in that center. 14 children participated in the event and they were devided into groups. The education was implemented by practising the first aid skills in cases. Each member of our project group was a teacher of her case. We helped and guided children while practicing. This first aid event was arranged because of the need which was proposed by the youth workers of the Youth Association of Ylivieska. There is no a systematic education of first aid skills in schools in Finland even tough it is very important to have those skills and know how to use them. Injuries happen within hobbies and plays of the children and we can prevent them and affect to the consequences with good first aid skills. The feedback of the children and the youth workers about our project was very positive and encouraging. We were evaluated by the children and the youth workers with the evaluation forms we made in advance. The questions in the evaluation forms were about our skills to work with kids and to handle the entire event.
