Tiivistelmä
In our modern world, SoCs (System-on-Chips) play an extremely important role in powering the technology around us, ranging from mobile devices to space stations. The development of SoCs is a complex process, that requires diverse teams of engineers and substantial investments. Effective and reliable SoC project schedule is extremely important for a successful SoC program because delays can result in significant financial losses, reduced competitiveness, a decrease in market share.
This thesis research originated from real-world challenges faced by a SoC project named [the project] within the case organization [the company], resulting in delays and alignment issues with the SoC program. This research used a case study approach and used both quantitative and qualitative data collection methods to find gaps in the existing processes of SoC project schedule development. This research used both statistical and content analysis techniques to find important insights and make recommendations.
The research findings provide guidelines about best practices, and improvements ideas for effective SoC project schedule development. These valuable best practices are the key for ensuring successful SoC projects for a SoC program not just in the case organization [the company] but also in the wider SoC industry.
