Oulun ammattikorkeakoulun Kirjasto- ja tietopalvelun koulutusohjelman opinnäytetyöt 2010-2013

Abstract

Tässä opinnäytetyössä käsitellään Oulun ammattikorkeakoulun kirjasto- ja tietopalvelun koulu-tusohjelmassa tehtyjä opinnäytetöitä. Työn tilaajana toimii Oulun ammattikorkeakoulun kirjasto- ja tietopalvelun koulutusohjelma. Opinnäytteitä tutkimalla pyrittiin saamaan lisätietoa opinnäytetöi-den aiheista sekä niiden määrällisestä jakautumisesta, toimeksiantajista, sekä alan työelämän tarpeista. Yksi työn päätutkimusongelmista oli opinnäytetöiden aiheiden sijoittuminen vuoden 2010–2013 voimassa olleeseen opetussuunnitelmaan. Tutkimuksessa saatuja tietoja voidaan käyttää hyödyksi opetussuunnitelmaa kehitettäessä sekä esimerkiksi tulevien opinnäytetyön aiheiden kehittämiseen.

Työ toteutettiin laadullisena tutkimuksena ja tutkittavia opinnäytetöitä oli yhteensä 70 kappaletta. Tutkimuksen aineisto saatiin keräämällä kaikki vuosina 2010–2013 tehdyt Oulun ammattikorkea-koulun kirjasto- ja tietopalvelun koulutusohjelmassa tehdyt opinnäytetyöt Theseuksesta, Intrasta sekä Oulun ammattikorkeakoulun Liiketalouden yksikön kirjastosta. Tämän työn tietotaustassa kerrotaan muun muassa opinnäytetyöhön sekä opetussuunnitelmiin liittyvistä piirteistä, aiemmista opinnäytetöitä käsittelevistä tutkimuksista sekä kirjasto- ja tietopal-velualan osaamisesta.

Tutkimuksessa selvisi, että opinnäytetöiden aiheet jakautuvat lähes kaikille opetettaville kursseil-le. Eniten opinnäytetöitä tehtiin aiheista, jotka sijoittuvat "Kokoelmatyö" sekä "Asiakaspalvelu kirjastossa" kursseille. Ilman vastaavuutta jääneitä kursseja olivat muun muassa pakollisten am-mattiopintojen Informaatio-oikeuden-kurssi sekä osa vaihtoehtoisten ammattiopintojen kursseista. Töiden toteutustapana suosittiin vuonna 2013 toiminnallista opinnäytettä ja eniten toimeksiantoja opinnäytetöille antoivat yleiset kirjastot. Tutkittujen töiden aiheet ovat yhteneviä kurssien aiheiden kanssa eli opinnäytetyön aiheet sekä opetussuunnitelma olivat sisällöiltään samankaltaiset. Ope-tussuunnitelma vaikuttaa täten olevan ajan tasalla. Hyödyntämällä tämän tutkimuksen tuloksia, voitaisiin joidenkin kurssien laajuuksia sekä painotusta kuitenkin vielä arvioida uudelleen.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine theses during 2010-2013 completed in the Degree Programme in Library and Information Services at the Oulu University of Applied Sciences. The commissioner of this study was The Degree Programme in Library and Information Services at the Oulu University of Applied Sciences. The theses were examined to gain more information about the topics of theses, about the clients and how the theses were completed. Furthermore, it was examined if the contents of the curriculum and the topics of thesis were corralitative with one another. The theses were carried out using qualitative research method. The results from this study can be used in the development of the curriculum in the future.

There were 70 theses examined. The research material was gathered from Theseus, Intranet and Library of Business and Information Management. In the information background of this thesis it is told for example about the theses, the curriculum, the Library and Information services compe-tences and the previous studies handling theses.

The studies showed that the topics of the theses were similar with the topics in the curriculum. And the topics of the theses were divided evenly to the courses in the curriculum. The most popular topics consisted of customer service and collection management. The least popular topics were for example information legislation and some of the courses part of the optional professional studies. The major part of the commissioners, were public libraries and the most popular method in 2013 was project-based approach. The subjects of the theses correspond to the curriculum. It seems that the curriculum is up-to-date and convergent with the theses. Using the results of this study the extents of some of the courses could be reevaluated.
