Tiivistelmä
The aim of this thesis was to gather data regarding the dynamics and professional growth of graduates of University of Eastern Finland and Savonia University of Applied Sciences.
Information about foreign students in Finland, the country's educational structure, changes over the years, immigration procedures, and student integration are covered in the theoretical section. In addition, the theo-retical part provides information about the clients Savonia and UEF. The practical part of the thesis is based on a questionnaire-based quantitative research method designed to show the development of the career paths of international graduates and the importance of helping students and graduates find work.
The thesis contributes to a deeper understanding of the complex and evolving nature of career development in modern society, focusing on the factors that shape the career paths of Savonia UAS and UEF graduates. The results and their analysis are of great importance to both higher education institutions and graduates as they navigate the ever-changing landscape of the labor market. The results showed that most graduates could find jobs that matched their education. However, they found that employment services needed to be more effective, and Savonia UAS needed to expand its graduate network.
This study examined the current circumstances faced by international students after graduation in order to assess the value of the graduate experience for current and future international students. The thesis dis-cussed how former students can mentor upcoming generations by sharing their experiences. Therefore, a questionnaire was compiled to clarify these issues. The results showed that all graduates could find jobs that matched their education, and many even stayed in the region. According to graduates, gaining more profes-sional experience and speaking Finnish are vital in finding a good job, and more language courses were need-ed during their studies.
Based on graduates' responses, networking and knowledge of the Finnish language are essential for success-ful integration into Finnish society and finding a good job.
