Tiivistelmä
When acquiring new technology, whether it is completely new or replacing the old, It is important to have a clear roadmap for implementation and further development after the roll out. It is crucial to evaluate differences between the potential vendors in the market in order to find out whose solution will fit the best, this will also demand that the criteria for the new solution are clear. Also the possible legacy systems should be taken into consideration as to how the potential new solution is able to integrate to avoid situation where the implementation of one new solution leads to another due to unexpected issues.
This thesis explores the challenges associated with the implementation and further development of new technology in media industry, but the aim is to generalize these issues so that they aren’t too industry specific and could be applied in others as well.
