Tiivistelmä
Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää, millaisia kokemuksia omaisilla on hoi-tohenkilökunnan ja omaisten välisestä yhteistyöstä kyseisessä palvelu-asumisyksikössä. Tavoitteena on kehittää tutkimuksen tulosteen avulla hoito-henkilökunnan ja omaisten välistä yhteistyötä. Tieto kohdistuu ikääntyneiden hoidon laadun parantamiseen.
Tutkimus on laadullinen tutkimus. Hoitohenkilökunta valitsi osaston kyseiseen tutkimukseen. Aineiston keruumenettelynä käytettiin avoimilla kysymyksillä olevia kysymyslomakkeita, joiden analyysivaiheessa käytettiin induktiivista sisällönanalyysiä. Kirjeitse tehty kysele lähettiin kotiin kahdellekymmenellekahdeksalle omaiselle. Vastauksia tuli takaisin seitsemältä omaiselta.
Tulosten mukaan omaisten mielestä yhteistyö on hyvää ja jatkuvaa. Omaiset kertoivat hoitohenkilökunnan kanssa vuorovaikutuksen olevan hyvää ja että heitä kuunnellaan. Omaiset toivoivat aktiivisempaa tiedottamista omaisten hoidosta. Omaisten mielestä hoidossa tulisi huomioida yksilöllisempää hoitolinjaa. Hoitohenkilökuntaa toivottiin lisää työvuoroihin. Omaiset toivoivat iäkkäiden hoidossa omahoitajajärjestelmää. Palvelutalon turvallisuuteen tulisi parannusta hoitajien olevan läsnä enemmän. Hoitohenkilökunnalle voisi järjestää täydennyskoulutusta työhön motivoitumista ja mielekkyyttä varten. The purpose of this study is to examine what sort of experiences the relatives have concerning the co-operation between them and the care staff in the ser-vice housing unit in question. The aim is to improve the this co-operation with the research results gained by this study. The information focuses on improving the quality of the treatment offered to the elderly.
This is a qualitative study. The unit was chosen specifically for the study by the care staff. The data collection method that was used included questionnaires with open-ended questions that were analyzed by using an inductive content analysis. The questionnaires were sent by mail to a total of twenty-eight rela-tives. Seven of them sent answers back.
The results showed that the relatives see the co-operation between the two parties as good and ongoing. They pointed out that the interaction between them and the care staff is good and that their opinions were heard. The relatives wished more active informing concerning the care of their next of kin. In their opinion the treatment should use more individualized care line. They also hoped that there would be more care staff working in shifts. One of the wishes was that there would be some kind of elderly caregiver system. The safety of the sheltered housing would improve if there would be more care staff present. In-service training could be arranged for the staff to further motivate them and to make the work feel more meaningful.
