Digitalization has changed and is changing the world continuously and financial administration and management are fields that digitalization affects very profoundly. The financial administration has already changed remarkably in the past years but is still going to change mostly because of robotic process automation and artificial intelligence.
The goal of the thesis is to find out how the digitalization of financial administration is going to change the job descriptions of the financial experts working in the client company. The thesis was conducted with qualitative research and the data was collected with structured interviews.
The purpose is to gain an overview of the finance experts’ own thoughts and perspectives of the change in financial administration. Based on the research, the change in the finance work was seen mostly welcomed. The job descriptions and the needed know-how are going to gradually change. Accountants’ mundane, repetitive tasks will be automated, and the people can concentrate on more value adding activities.
