Tiivistelmä
Tämä toiminnallinen opinnäytetyö on tehty toimeksiantona GLO Hotel Artin vastaanottoon.
GLO Hotel Art on Kämp Collection Hotels - ketjuun kuuluva hotelli ja sen vetovoimatekijöihin kuuluu sijainti vanhassa Art Nouveau tyylisessä linnassa Helsingin Designkorttelissa. Hotelli on suosittu sekä liike- että lomamatkailijoiden keskuudessa.
Vastaanottoon otettiin alkuvuodesta 2023 käyttöön uusi varauskäyttöjärjestelmä ja samalla työntekoon liittyviä käytäntöjä muutettiin sekä hotellin sisäsiiven huoneita remontoitiin. Tämän vuoksi perehdytysoppaan kehittämiselle oli suuri tarve.
Opinnäytetyön tavoitteena oli selvittää, miten kehittää hotellin vastaanottoon opas, joka edistää uuden työntekijän perehdytystä huomioiden organisaation arvot, missio- ja visiotavoitteet.
Opinnäytetyön teoriaosuudessa selvitetään tekijät, jotka vaikuttavat uuden työntekijän motivaatioon ja viihtymiseen organisaatiossa. Työn sisältö korostaa monimuotoisuuden merkitystä organisaatiossa ja sen teoriaosuus selvittää, miten jokainen työntekijä voi omalla työpanoksellaan edistää monimuotoista ja inklusiivista työympäristöä. Lisäksi opinnäytetyössä on otettu huomioon matkailu- ja ravintola-alan nykyiset sekä tulevaisuuden haasteet.
Opinnäytetyön tuloksena valmistui perehdytysopas, joka on hyödyllinen sekä uusien työntekijöiden että harjoittelijoiden perehdyttämisessä toimeksiantajaorganisaatiossa. This functional thesis was commissioned by GLO Hotel Art. GLO Hotel Art is part of Kämp Collection Hotels. One of the factors influencing its attractiveness is the location in an old Art Nouveau style castle in the district called Helsinki Design. The hotel is popular among both business and leisure travelers.
At the beginning of 2023 the reception got a new reservation operating system and because of that also the principles for the way of working changed. In addition, the rooms in the inner wing of the hotel were renovated and for this reason, there was a great need for the development of an orientation guide.
The aim of the thesis was to study how it could be possible to create an orientation guide for the hotel recep-tion, which would support the orientation of a new employee, at the same time taking in to account the organization's values, mission, and vision goals.
In the theory part of the thesis, the factors that affect the motivation and comfort of a new
employee in the organization are explained. The content of the work emphasizes the importance of diversity in the organization, and explains how each employee can promote a diverse and inclusive work environment with their own work contribution. In addition, the thesis discusses the current and future challenges of the tourism and restaurant industry.
As a result of the thesis, an orientation guide was completed, which is useful for the orientation of both new employees and trainees in the commissioning company.
