Customer project management process development in an advertising agency

Abstract

This thesis examines project management process development at an advertising agency. The agency is specialized in health care and medical marketing with over 30 years of experience pharmaceutical and medical industry.

Due to the need of optimizing the agency’s performance in project management, increasing preparedness for system utilization, and enhancing the profitability in projects, an internal development project started at the agency in 2021. The agency’s current project management system is examined and developed during the process and a lot of new supportive functions and features related to project management is taken into use as an outcome of this development project.

The development project starts with a questionnaire survey which has been executed at the agency. The results of the survey are used as guideline for the development plans and actions. The questionnaire survey shows that project management process itself includes a lot of manual operations, employee’s knowledge in system utilization is weak and resourcing and time management skills also need improvement.

Based on these findings the development team creates solutions for an optimized project management process at the agency. These solutions are presented as the outcomes of this development project.
