Tiivistelmä
Työn tilaajana toimi vasta perustettu yritys Efficient Network Partner Oy (ENP), jonka liiketoiminta tapahtuu kilpaillussa sähkö- ja tietoliikenneverkkojen projektimaailmassa. Heti toiminnan alkaessa yrityksessä haluttiin saada aikaan selkeät toimintamallit projektityöhön. Tutkimuksen päätavoitteena oli tuottaa riittävä teoriapohja yrityksen toiminnan-kuvaukselle sekä projektikäsikirjalle.
Eri projektiteorioista ja lean-toimintamalleista löytyvästä runsaasta aineistosta työhön koottiin yrityksen liiketoiminnan näkökulmasta oleelliset projektityökalut ja -vaiheet. Aineiston tutkiminen, analysointi ja kokoaminen tehtiin sähkö- ja tietoliikenneverkkojen rakentamisen projektiliiketoiminnan näkökulmasta. Näin myös teoriaosuudesta tuli kan-taa ottava ja työ sisältää yrityksen näkökulmasta olennaiset projektityön osat.
Työn teorian riittävän käytännönläheisen lähestymistavan varmistamiseksi työn aikana haastateltiin projektityön kulkuun oleellisesti vaikuttavia sidosryhmiä, eli työn tilaajia, kumppaneita sekä yrityksen omaa henkilöstöä. Tämän työn tarkoituksena oli vastata sille asetettuihin kysymyksiin: Mitä asioita täytyy ottaa huomioon projektiosaamisen kehittämisessä ja miten projektin vastuut tulee jakaa projektin tavoitteiden mukaisen lopputuloksen saavuttamiseksi? Työ vastaa sille asetettuihin kysymyksiin sekä antaa tutkitun teoriapohjan tilaajayritykselle sen toiminnankuvaukseen ja projektikäsikirjaan.
Tutkimuksessa havaittiin projektityön kriittiset osat kohdeyrityksen liiketoiminnan näkökulmasta. Näitä tutkimuksen mukaan ovat projektin vastuut, aikataulut, raportointi ja projektin eri vaiheisiin sisältyvät tehtävät. Työssä eriteltiin tarkemmin havaitut kriittiset tekijät, jotka toiminnassa huomioimalla projektiliiketoiminnan arvoa tuottamatonta työtä voidaan vähentää ja varmistaa kilpailukyky kilpailluilla markkinoilla.
Työn julkinen osuus jäi teoriapainotteiseksi, koska yrityksen toimintaa tarkemmin analysoivat ja kuvaavat osiot jouduttiin erottamaan työstä yrityksen sisäisinä dokumentteina liikesalaisuuden vuoksi. This work was commissioned by the recently founded company, Efficient Network Partner Oy (ENP), whose business focuses on the highly competitive world of electrical and communication networks projects. Right at the start of operations, the company wanted to formulate clear operational models for project work. The main goal for this research was to produce a theoretical basis that fulfils the requirements of the company's operational description and the project manual.
From the various project theories and lean-based operating models that provided ample data, the project tools and phases relevant to the company's business were collected for this research. Thus, the theoretical section also had an involved role, and the work comp-rises the project work sections relevant to the company's viewpoint.
To ensure an adequately practical approach to the theoretical framework of the thesis, interest groups that had significant effects on project workflow were interviewed during the research. These groups involved customers, partners, and the company's own personnel. The aim of this thesis was to address the following questions: Which aspects need to be taken into account in project expertise development, and how are project res-ponsibilities to be assigned to ensure reaching the set goals for the project? This work provides replies to these questions, as well as creates a researchbased theoretical fra-mework for the commissioning company to be utilised in the company's operational description and project manual.
The critical aspects for project work, from the point of view of the target company's business, were observed in the study. According to the results, there were: project res-ponsibilities, schedules, reporting, and tasks related to the various project phases. This work specified the observed critical factors in more detail. Taking these factors into consideration in operations enables decreasing the amount of work unproductive to project business value, as well as ensuring competitiveness in the market.
The public section of the thesis remained rather theoretical due to trade secret issues that resulted in transforming sections that analysed and described the company's operations at a more detailed level into separate, internal documents.
