The Virtual Reality (VR) platform is one of the fastest-growing markets in the game industry. The largest gaming companies are building their own metaverse and consider it the future of the internet. To make an outstanding metaverse, the reality between players’ conversation is one of the top priorities.
The goal of the thesis was to research lip-sync tools for real-time conversation in multiplayer games. The objectives of this thesis were to compare the two popular lip-sync tools which support real-time lip-sync for Unity: Salsa LipSync and Oculus LipSync by putting them to a test. Photon Unity Networking (PUN) was chosen as the multiplayer network services to study two lip-sync software. During the test, testers were to try both tools and answer some questions to find out the better version. The test indicate that Salsa Lipsync was the preferred lipsync tool.
