Tiivistelmä
The primary aim of this third Friskie publication “Towards Active Citizenship” is to present the completed Friskie Programme and to reflect how Friskie Programme is understood in the context of theoretical and practical development needs among project partners.
The Friskie Programme is a learning process by which young people are prepared for working life and independent living, and is a key method for guidance by which a professional worker can be equipped for identity work and empowerment. In the Friskie-EU project development of guidance and couselling practices as educational actions have been reflected in the socio pedagogical perspective. The Friskie Programme itself -with three comprehensive sections: from education to work, responsible adulthood and active citizenship- is an concrete example of a new pedagogical approach to facilitate socio pedagocical guidance and to deal with needs for guided participation of young people threatened with exclusion. The Friskie Programme as a learning material is flexible and user friendly. The Friskie learning material can be use beneficially in many different ways in lessons in schools, activities and guidance whilst working with young people and it can be easily adjust and developed further.
Friskie-EU-project is funded by Leonardo da Vinci -program. The partners are Turku University of Applied Sciences and Turku Vocational Institute in Finland, University West in Sweden, Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in UK, Drenthe College in the Netherlands, Os Vidaregåaende Skole in Norway and University of Oviedo in Spain.
